Chapter 117
There, they saw a girl dressed head–to–toe in black, standing on top of a few girls in school uniforms. She was casually spinning a knife in her hand, blowing bubbles with her gum; and her baseball cap was pulled so low you couldn’t see her face. But just from the pendant hanging on her chest and the whole aura she gave off, one could tell this girl was nothing but trouble.
The girls on the ground spotted Amber and Claire at the alley entrance and started shouting at the top of their lungs, “Quick, call the police! Help! She’s going to kill us!”
“Help! Help!” they cried out.
Winifred spun the knife in her hand, waving it right in front of those girls‘ faces. The girls turned ghostly pale and shrieked in terror.
“Ah! Ah!”
“Don’t kill us!”
“Don’t kill us!”
Seeing this, Amber rushed out and yelled, “What the hell are you doing? Stop! I’m calling the police!”
Winifred didn’t even bother to turn around. Her voice was icy as she spat out, “Get lost.”
Claire tried to pull Amber back, but Amber just stormed forward, brimming with righteous fury.
“Who do you think you are? Trying to kill someone in broad daylight?” Amber shouted.
Claire physically tried to hold her back, but Amber wouldn’t budge. “Amber, Amber, calm down! Don’t be so rash.” Claire pleaded, swallowing hard.
Amber was indeed fearless. In this shady little corner, Winifred looked seriously dangerous. Claire believed that if she decided to silence them, they would be way too young to die.
“Hey, sorry, we didn’t mean to interrupt–we’re just passing by, that’s all,” Claire said, trying to smooth things over.
It would make more sense to just get out of here and call the cops from a safe distance.
But Amber shook off her hand, shouting to Winifred. “You’re seriously messed up, picking on students like this. Let them go right now, or else-”
Before she could finish, Winifred cut her off with a mocking laugh. “Or else what?”
“Or I’ll “Amber couldn’t believe how brazen Winifred was.
She straightened up and said loudly, “Once we call the cops, it’ll be too late for regrets. Apologize to them right now, and give back everything you took.”
Winifred’s voice was cold as ice. “Apologize? Those losers don’t even deserve an apology from me. You two little punks, count yourselves lucky I’m in a good mood and don’t want to spill innocent blood today. So get lost while you still can. My knife doesn’t care who it cuts–if I accidentally slice open your throat, don’t expect me to say sorry.”
Claire’s eyes were wide with fear, and she broke out in a cold sweat.
“We’re leaving, we’re leaving!” she blurted out, desperately trying to haul Amber away with every ounce of strength she had.
Amber clenched her fists and whipped out her phone, ready to call the cops. But before she could even hit a button, Winifred had sent it flying with a single kick. The phone sailed through the air and smashed to pieces on the pavement.
“My phone! Ugh, it’s totally wrecked!” Amber cried.
Pure contempt flashed past Winifred’s eyes as she watched Amber scramble to pick up the broken pieces.
Chapter 117
She sheathed her knife and gave a chilling warning, “If I ever catch you using your grades as an excuse to bully anyone under my pcters won’t just be a scare. Got it? Go ahead, call the cops, tell your teachers–il you can even walk out of here in one pince to see me get more
The girls sobbed and nodded frantically, scrambling out of the alley as fast as they could. One of them was in such a rush that she ran straight an Amber.
Amber barely had time to grab her phone before it went flying again, hitting the pavement with another sickening crack. The spiderweb of fractures spread further across the screen as she watched the girls flee away.
“Hey! Get back here!” she shouted, frustration boiling over.
Winifred pulled her cap down low and walked past them, her black shoes coming down hard on the already broken phone. There was a soft, mocking chuckle from her, followed by Amber’s startled cry.
“Ah! My phone! You nasty woman, I hate you! You’re the absolute worst!” Amber yelled.
