Chapter 98
Peter couldn’t get his clothes off fast enough, his heart pounding with excitement. The woman he’d been dreaming about for so long was finally night there in his bed.
Vivian had such a pure, gentle face–like the kind of first love that made one’s heart ache with nostalgia.
In that instant, Peter felt like he was back in his wild, reckless youth.
Just as Richard started to sit up, Peter shoved him back down, his hot, naked, heavy body pressing close, and Richard could unmistakably feel exactly what kind of thing Peter was bringing to the table as a man.
“Damn–Richard tried to say, but Peter’s big hand clamped over his mouth again.
“Just wait a bit. Don’t get ahead of yourself,” Peter said, his voice low and rough.
As he spoke, Peter reached for Richard’s clothes, but something felt off. ‘Why is there a belt? he wondered.
“Ah-“A sharp pain shot through Peter’s palm, and he yanked his hand back.
Richard exploded, “Peter, you son of a bitch. You shameless bastard. You dirty old pervert. Damn it, open your eyes and see who I am.”
“You-“Peter sputtered, furious. He ignored the pain in his hand, his eyes wide with shock. He couldn’t get a word out.
Peter snapped on the light, and when he saw who was actually in the bed, his fat body jerked in shock. He bent over in a panic, frantically grabbing his clothes off the floor
“Richard? Why the hell is it you? What are you even doing here?” Peter blurted out.
“Is this guy nuts?” Peter raged in his head and wondered, ‘I was supposed to meet Vivian. So what the hell is he doing in my room?”
Richard stood up, glaring at Peter. “Look who’s talking, you dirty man
Peter grabbed a handful of his hair, gritting his teeth. “Wait? You didn’t seriously think those roses were for you, did you? Richard, I was trying to give them to ”
Richard’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Go on. Why’d you shut up? Peter, don’t think I won’t call the cops and have you thrown in jail right now.
“Laying your hands on my employee–what the hell is wrong with you? She’s young enough to be your daughter, you filthy old creep. Seriously, did your mom never teach you how to act properly?”
Peter shot back. “Oh, please Richard, we’re all cut from the same cloth here. Who are you trying to fool, acting like you’re some paragon of virtue? You’re just another sanctimonious old geezer.
“Why pretend you’re so high and mighty? The way you guard her–what, is she your mistress? if you can’t let her go, just admit it. Why keep up the act?
Smack Richard, luming with rage, strode over and landed two sharp slaps right across Peter’s face.
Peter’s face burned, his cheeks jiggling from the blows. Richard actually dared to hit me?‘ he thought, completely stunned.
Smack. In the next instant, Peter slapped Richard right back. “Richard, don’t take my kindness for granted. Your pathetic little company? I could ruin it with a snap of my fingers,” Peter sneered.
After saying that, Peter sized Richard up from head to toe, his eyes finally landing on Richard’s face. “Huh, not bad, Peter thought to himself
“If you want me to forgive you and let you off, then you’ll have to spend the night with me,” Peter said, his voice low and full of threat.
Richard could hardly believe his ears. He wants me to spend the night with him? Richard was completely floored as he wondered, “How could he be that
twisted? Bastard.
“Yeah, right, I’ll spend the fucking night with you.” Richard shot back with a steer
With that, Richard pulled out his brass knuckles and started beating the crap out of Peter, that disgusting old man. So shameless at his age, Richard thought with disgust.
After Nora got the kids to sleep, she went downstairs, turned on the TV, and started snacking on fruit and treats while catching up on her shows. Anyone
could see she was in a great mood.
Enna was back.
Nora took a bite of mango, and suddenly remembering something, she pulled out her phone and called Enna.
“Nora, it’s me. What’s up?” Sienna answered.
When Nora heard Sienna’s voice, she couldn’t help but smile. “Nothing. Enna. I just wanted to hear your voice,” Nora said softly
Of course, Sienna could see right through Nora. After all, they’d grown up together.
Sienna let out a helpless sigh. “I’m not dead, Nora. You’re not imagining things. I’m really back,” she said.
“Enna, I’m just so happy you’re back. Once I get divorced, I’ll bring my son over to live with you,” Nora said, her voice bubbling with excitement.
“Alright,” Sienna replied with a gentle laugh.
“It’s settled then,” Nora grinned,
“Okay,” Amber replied.
Nora was a total anime geek. She loved binge–watching new series and had even invested in dozens of them over the years. But lately, she just hadn’t had the time to keep up, and only now did she realize that quite a few had already finished airing,
“Tonight, I’m going all out and catching up on everything, Nora thought, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Whenever she hit an epic scene, Nora got so hyped she nearly tossed her chips in the air like confetti to celebrate.
Inside Charmvale, Ethan’s friends could all tell he was in a bad mood–he’d already gone through several bottles.
“Ethan, what’s up with you? If something’s bothering you, just say it. We’re your bros, we’ll help
p you out, right?” one of his buddies chimed in.
Ethan shook his head with a bitter smile, leaned back on the couch, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
This morning, he’d gotten up early to make Nora breakfast, but she didn’t even spare it a glance, let alone take a bite. Knowing Nora couldn’t cook, Ethan had sent the chef home just so he could have her all to himself for the day.
But Nora would rather eat salud than even look at the feast he’d made for her.
And the first thing Nora said to him was, “Ethan, let’s get a divorce. I don’t want anything except our son. I’m scared of pain, and this is the only son i’ll ever have in this life. You can have more kids with someone else.”
Ethan was completely stunned. His heart skipped a beat, and he was thrown into chaos, not even knowing what to do.
Ethan was the one who had brought up the divorce. He’d said the most hurtful things, telling her straight up he wasn’t interested in her at all anymore He told her he’d fallen for someone else, and even called her crazy.
Now that Ethan was finally getting what he wanted, all he wanted to do was run away. He didn’t even dare go home.
“What else could it be? It’s just the divorce, right?” Jason pushed the door open, walked in, took off his glasses, wiped them, and put them back on
Ethan glanced up at him,
Jason, late again, huh?” someone said.
Jason sat down. “Last minute patient.”
Then, with a half–smirk, Jason looked over at Ethan. “What’s wrong? Weren’t you the one who kept going on about getting a divorce!
“Nora must’ve finally agreed, so what are you waiting for? Once you’re single, you can just bring your secretary home as your new wife. Isn’t that a happy ending for everyone?”
Ethan didn’t say a word. He just fixed his gaze on Jason, then picked up his glass and knocked it back in one go
“No way. Ethan, did Nora really agree to divorce you? That shrew is actually willing to let you go?” one of the guys blurted out.
Smash. Ethan hurled his glass to the floor, shattering it, and shot him a murderous glare. “Say that again, Who did you just call a shrew?” Ethan growled, his voice low and dangerous.
The guy was clearly startled, but he was just calling it like he saw it.
“Ethan, come on, it’s Nora. Everyone in our circle knows she’s a total shrew, crazy jealous, blowing up your phone eight hundred times a day, and if she could, she’d slap a camera on you just to watch your every move,” the guy said.
Ethan’s anger flared, his fists clenching as he was about to swing, but Jason shot out a hand and clamped down on his arm. Behind his glasses, Jason’s narrow eyes were full of mockery and disdain.
“What, feeling offended now? Weren’t you the one who used to agree with all that? Why bother lying to yourself, trying to act like you had nothing to do with it? Seriously, Ethan, isn’t that just hypocritical?” Jason taunted.
Ethan’s face went livid, his expression so dark it was almost scary.
“Ford, shut up,” Ethan snapped.
Ethan didn’t even notice he’d called Jason by his former name. Jason used to go by Ford Everett, but later changed it because he thought it sounded unlucky.
“Well? What are you waiting for? Get out, Jason barked.
The guy at the table scrambled up and rushed out, muttering lunatic under his breath as he left .
